Onchocerca volvulus microfilaria in the dermis of skin - non - sheathed, 150 -368 (usually 221-287) x 5 - 9 microns, tail is tapered and nuclei free. Widely distrubuted throughout Central Africa and Central and South America; vector is a black fly, Simulium sp.
